Howard’s practice focuses on lateral partner hiring and integration. In his consulting work with law firms, Howard works in tandem with firm leadership and recruiting teams to assess the effectiveness of existing processes, to design and implement strategies that optimize recruitment and integration outcomes and to maximize the firm’s return on its investment in lateral hiring.
Howard is well-known within the legal industry and has been recognized by The American Lawyer and other legal press for his work in the context of lateral recruiting and integration. He is regularly invited to speak on recruiting panels to share his experience of, and ideas about, making productive connections for laterals and helping them to hit the ground running.
Howard practiced as a corporate partner for many years at Hogan Lovells. Having served on the firm’s executive committee, he most recently led Hogan Lovells' lateral partner recruiting and integration team. In his capacity as the partner responsible for global recruitment initiatives, Howard worked closely with all offices, practices and industry sectors to identify candidates aligned with the firm’s strategic business needs. He also played a key role in guiding candidates though the recruiting process and helping them transition into a successful career at Hogan Lovells.
Howard earned his JD, cum laude, from New York Law School, and his BA from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
