I have over 20 years of experience in the legal community, with an emphasis on coaching and developing attorneys at all stages of their careers. Although I enjoyed practicing as an employment attorney for a decade, it was not until I joined the PD legal community that I found my ikigai (a Japanese term that translates into reason for being) in coaching attorneys. Through nearly a decade of work at a sophisticated firm, which led me to join Volta, I have deepened my long-standing mindset that each person has the ability to create their success. From coaching associates through career development to supporting partners in their business development efforts, I collaborate with attorneys to support them in identifying, clarifying and pursuing their short-term and long-term goals.

Quiet Leadership, by David Rock
So much of how we behave is habitual, including our leadership. Leadership is often about improving our performance by changing our environment. David Rock focuses on the way people think with a starting point based in neuroscience. Rock identifies six steps for leaders to use in conversations with their teams (to coach and develop them) with a recognition that each brain is wired differently.
