Malini brings over a decade of experience as a career development professional to her work at Volta. She began her legal career as a commercial litigator, spending several years at two AmLaw 200 firms. Prior to joining Volta, she served as the Director of Career Services at UCLA School of Law, where she provided in-depth career coaching and professional development support to thousands of students and alumni and designed and presented customized programs and skills-based workshops on a range of career-related topics.
Malini holds a BA from Tufts University and a JD from Loyola Law School. She has deep roots in the Los Angeles area legal community, having served as Co-Chair of the Los Angeles Area Legal Recruitment Association’s (LAALRA) education conference and as a Regional Coordinator, Nominating Committee Member and Ethics and Standards Advisory Group Member for The National Association for Law Placement (NALP). Malini is also a frequent speaker at industry events and organizations, having presented at NALP, as well as at various local, diverse and student bar associations and the Los Angeles offices of AmLaw 100 law firms.
Malini spent thirteen years living abroad in Jakarta, Indonesia and is conversational in both Hindi and Bahasa Indonesia. She returned to the US in 1995 and currently resides in Los Angeles. In her spare time, Malini enjoys spending time with her husband and running after her two daughters who are already running her household.
