The Volta Innovation Challenge
“You can’t solve exponential problems with linear solutions.” – Benny Bannerjee
We invite you to apply the ideas and design thinking techniques shared by Robin Chase and Evelyn Williams by submitting a proposal as to how you would innovate to address the most urgent issue (or greatest opportunity) faced by your law firm in the context of talent acquisition and development.
The winning proposal will be awarded consulting time (of a value up to $5,000) toward the development of the idea described in the proposal.
To be eligible, you must have attended the 2018 Volta Forum. You may collaborate with a member of the Volta Talent Strategies team to ideate and brainstorm your submission. If you work with any member of the Volta team, we ask that you note this clearly in your submission.
All proposals should include:
- What you plan to do;
- Why you believe it is worth doing;
- How you plan to get it done;
- Who will do it; and
- When it will be done.
We recommend that every proposal adopt the SMART approach to outline how the idea is Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Results-focused and Time-based.
The winning submission will be selected by Sang Lee in her absolute discretion. Judging criteria include the:
- Thoroughness of the content (proposal addresses the what, why, how, who and when);
- Creativity and innovation of the idea; and
- Use of the SMART approach.
Proposals should be no more than 1,500 words and must submitted by email (with the subject line Volta Innovation Challenge) in PDF format to firstname.lastname@example.org by 5:00PM ET on July 13, 2018. The winner will be selected and notified by no later than July 31, 2018.
